Use a soft measuring tape or a piece of string that you can measure with a ruler later. Wrap the tape all the way around your dog at the widest point of the chest. Your dog should be standing square, not sitting or slouching . That measurement becomes the Maximum Girth size for your dog. Minimum Girth Adjustment: The coat won't adjust any smaller than this for the girth. If you dog's chest girth is much smaller than this you'll have to decide if that size is right for you. You don't want your dog "swimming" in the coat. Back Length: This is the length of the coat. Measure your dog from collar to base of tail to see how the coat will fit the length of your dog.
